Anyone can have their own store on the Internet using Web Store eCommerce Software. Web Store is the cheapest Software package for what you get. Start making more money. Get Web Store for a backup. Web Store automatically sets the subject line for emailing inquires to the store name, space, and item name. Example: TechJim Web Site Monitor. In our example, the store name is TechJim and the item name is Web Site Monitor. You can sort the items based on the Item Name, Price of the item, or custom sort. Click the More Store Settings to create a First Tour Page. The default is tour0001.htm. You can also enter the Last Tour Page. The default is aboutus.htm To disable the tour of your web site, wipe out the First Tour Page box. You do not need to know HTML to use this product! Web Store is an easy way to get your store on the web. All source files start at c:\webstore\(store folder name) Tour of the main program: You may select Web Style 1 - 6. (6 is the only one that supports Linux or Unix). New Sore Name The Add Store or Save Store Settings button saves the store settings. Type in the text for your new store. The Save to Server and End button saves the creates web pages and copies them to the 'Server Path". While this is running, you will see the download window on your screen. You do not need to do anything with it, the window will close after Web Store is done creating server files. The All Names button toggles the option to list each item under as many names as you create. The Make Backup button creates a copy of c:\webstore\ and all subfolders to c:\webstorebu\ The Server Path can be any folder on your hard drive or shared folder in your network. The Make CD / Help will create a executables, documentation, and pictures on c:\makecd\ Demo Text only works for downloadable demo software versions or other digital media The AutoClip button toggles the Automatic Windows Clipboard off and on. If it is on, you only need to click in most of the fields to copy the entire contents of that field to the clipboard. The Lowonly button toggles the picture button to all low or not. Web Store will copy the text of the Web Store path to save a jpg file to. The format is: c:\webstore\(folder name of store)\item???????.jpg All low off mode forces the picture button to toggle through hi-res picture names and low-res. Each time you click the button you will put the following text in the clipboard one line at a time. You could close this anytime, by selecting Store Closed option. The feature Link can be any URL. This will be treated differently depending on the Web Style. Label for Items can be any words you want to To open an existing store, double click the name of the store. The name of the store can have spaces, but the folder name that Web Store creates will not have any spaces. Example: Household Software is on the householdsoftware folder. You can add an item to a store buy Opening Web Store, Open the store in question, then type the new item on the blank Item Name field. The Item ID will automatically set is self to the next folder name such as item0000041. You can type your own Item ID if you wish. To delete an item, just highlight the item in question, then hit the Delete key. Enter in the price for the item. The Item Status block is Active. Setting this to anything but Active will force the item not to show up on the web site. Short Description. This should be something short that says what it does. Key Words Enter any thing you want to say about the item. This is a good place to put references that may be searched for when a customer is looking for an item. Example: You are selling Stephen King books, add the line: steven king, steve king to help people find items that are not spelled correctly. Add to Cart You can copy this from merchant account web site (such as PayPal). View Cart You can copy this from a merchant account web site (such as PayPal). Buy Now You can copy this from a merchant account web site (such as PayPal). Buy Now allows the customer to pay for the product, then takes you to a download site. Pay Now, Download Now, Use Now. Description You can type anything here. You can even copy and paste html here. Path for Help Files This is the name of the folder to put help files for the store into. You do not need anything here. Example: c:\helptemp Names Some people will look at the names of software and such. You can list as many names as you wish. The items will be listed with just these names if you have All Names On. You can randomly create download file names. This is good for software and such that you own and can copy. Web Store does not require a download path to work. Web Store works create for e-commerce books stores CDs, or non-ecommerce sites. The More Store Settings button will open a new window, and put more information about this store. Contact Us If you enter anything here, the web site will have a 'Contact Us' tab. The information you type here will show up on that tab. We suggest you enter at least one name, phone number, email address and mailing address. Help If you enter anything here, the web site will have a 'Help' Tab. . The information you type here will show up on that tab Customer Support If you enter anything here, the web site will have a 'Customer Support' Tab. . The information you type here will show up on that tab Press Releases If you enter anything here, the web site will have a 'Press Releases' Tab. . The information you type here will show up on that tab About Us If you enter anything here, the web site will have a 'About Us' Tab. . The information you type here will show up on that tab Plug Plug is text you want to show up on in the body of the main web site. Server OS You can select Windows or UNIX. Note if you are using Linux select UNIX here. If you select UNIX, the default file name for the web pages will be index.htm. If you select Windows, the default file for the web page will be default.htm UNIX User ID Enter Your log-in User ID. First Tour Page. If you have anything here such as tour0001.htm, Web Store will generate a redirect to the first tour page in 15 seconds. Local Download Folder is for downloadable product such as software. Example: c:\householdsoftware\dl Download URL is for downloadable products such as: http://householdsoftware/dl The Save Changes button will save changes on this window. Main Features: Generates lean, lean web pages. Here are some stats: If you take the total number of actual HTML file downloaded, divided by the actual number of characters, you will see eBay checks in at about 14.3, Web Store checks in at only 1.2. These stats make for fast web sites! Add to that we are not so lost in web page coding as to put your web pages in a 'search engine unfriendly' format. There are currently 6 generic styles of web pages you can generate with this. More details on styles later. Style 6 is the only style that works for Linux or Unix. Command Line Options: You can use /store (store folder name) to automatically open a store that you have created. Example: webstore1.exe /store householdsoftware You can use /store (store folder name) /save. This is useful for allowing a third party application such as Top Tech Stories to modify files on Web Store and then save them automatically. Example: webstore1.exe /store techjim /save You can use /pub on your command line to automatically publish the web pages. You will need to identify the store folder as well.
