An Open Letter to Adobe Concerning the Flash Player 10
An open letter to Adobe concerning the Flash Player 10.

Flash has a big problems with no way to turn it off!

I have always been adamant about not installing flash on my PC or customer
PCs. In fact, I offer uninstalling flash as a service!

Ever since the early days of flash, I have been asking the question: Why not
put an off switch in it? And for those same years you have not answered the
question.

Flash has always been an easy target because, the good guys (most people)
don't know they have it on their PC, and the bad guys know it.

For years, I have said there is no way I am going to trust, EVERY flash
program in the world. With flash it is all or none, so I choose none.

Flash issue are still in US-CERT warnings on an almost weekly basis.

The only way to turn of flash in most cases for the US-CERT fixes is to
disable all Active X.

In the beginning there was no way to uninstall flash without re-installing
windows or doing a registry hack.

As of the latest version, at least you can uninstall it.

If flash 10 has a turn off that is easy for my customers to use then, I will
shut up about it and actually use flash.

If flash 10 is more of the same lip service such as 'flash cannot be a
problem' and there is still no easy off switch then flash player remains the
biggest security issue in computer history, with no fix in site!
